In addition to the publications listed above, two others merit mention.
On the 50th anniversary of the UDHR, George Annas had a piece entitled "Human Rights and Health: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 50" published in the New England Journal of Medicine, 1998; 339:1778-81. Shortly before Jonathan Mann's tragic death, Sofia Gruskin, Michael Grodin and George Annas finished work on an edited collection of major articles on health and human rights, which was published in 1999, entitled: Health and Human Rights: A Reader. This book is a primer for those wanting an overview of the field and its development, as well as a useful course supplement for Human Rights and Human Rights and Health courses.
